Op On Friday 31 March 2023, A.S.F. Fischer BV drove the first pile for the expansion of the logistics center.
Casper Booij, the son of current director Arnoud Booij, drove the first symbolic pile at the age of 11. ‘A family tradition’, says Mr. Booij. ‘At the age of 11, under the watchful eye of my father, I also drove the first pile of one of our previous expansions’. A.S.F. Fischer BV has been established at the current location in Lelystad since 1970 and has already experienced a number of major expansions in recent years.
The existing logistics center will be expanded by more than 2.500 m2. The new warehouse will be 50 by 50 meters, will be over 13 meters high and will be equipped with 3 indoor dock levellers. In addition, the building is fully sustainable, equipped with underfloor heating, solar panels and LED lighting.
The expansion will soon provide space for more than 10.000 new pallet spaces. Not a superfluous luxury, since A.S.F. Fischer BV recently took over Herag BV from Bolsward and a full integration of sales, purchasing and logistics activities has taken place in Lelystad.
The new building will not only be sustainable, but will also be very efficient, with advanced systems for order picking and shipping. As a result, A.S.F. Fischer BV can further optimize customer service and process and deliver orders even faster and more reliably.
